... it is recommended to put in new thermostats at the same time you put in a new boiler. Modern digital thermostats can provide much greater control over how you use heating in your home and are very inexpensive considering the improvement they can make in your energy costs

...Natural Gas is currently the primary means by which most people heat their homes in the United States and most of Europe. Usually, it is the most convenient fuel source in urban areas and hence very popular.
Typically, Propane is a more expensive fuel source than natural gas. Propane is derived from petroleum products during the refining process.
Both Natural Gas and Propane integrate very easily and inexpensively into forced air heating systems which dominate the US market.
Heating oil is a fuel most commonly found in the Northeast of the USA and it also still competes with its gaseous competitors in many other areas of the world. Historically speaking, home fuel oil replaced coal in many parts of the world as soon as it became widely available because it was a more convenient fuel - no ashes to deal with, less dust, etc. Hence, it is still possible to find ancient boilers in basements that were converted from coal to Heating Oil and perhaps even to Gas.
Boilers last a long time so the biggest economic difference over time is probably going to end up being the cost of fuel

  Choose your heating system wisely!!!

...replacing an old model toilet with a new low-consumption or low-flush toilet could drastically cut your home water consumption. This could mean significant savings for you for many years to come. The Massachusetts State Plumbing Code requires that all new or replacement installations of toilets use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush
Did you know that...

...standard kitchen and bathroom water faucets use 4 to 7 gallons of water per minute. Non-conserving showerheads use 5 to 8 gallons per minute. Simply installing a high-efficiency showerhead and faucet aerator will reduce the flow rate to 1 to 2.75 gallons per minute. This conserves water and improves faucet performance at the same time

Annual plumbing inspections and maintenance can identify and solve problems before major damage occurs.

    Step 1: “Understanding the Risk”
Leaking pipes can lead to damage and decay of wood structural members, floors and flooring, and the buildup of mold and mildew. The long term damage from a persistent leak may well end up being your responsibility for repairs as many insurance policies do not cover maintenance-related problems.
Routine plumbing inspections keep systems running smoothly and help you to avoid unexpected, and sometimes quite costly, repairs.

Step 2: “Inspection of the Plumbing System”
During a plumbing inspection, a licensed and insured plumber - Advantage III Plumbing and Heating - will perform a complete evaluation of your home plumbing system.

Step 3: “Taking Action to Fix Any Problems”
After the inspection, we will provide you with a detailed report with recommendations of how to fix the problem(s) and a price of the repair project(s).

Call us today to schedule your Annual Inspection!

When it comes to the cost of an inspection compared to the benefits of avoiding expensive repairs, fitting in one annual inspection is worth it
